Nothing Was Lost In Translation

Updated: Feb 9

Thank you to Sandrine Pitton for being an indispensable part of the weekend seminar at CrossFit Lausanne as my translator. I can assure you that this is a very demanding job which bilingualism in itself doesn’t qualify you for. Sandrine, however, did a great job.

It's such a relief for myself, not speaking more than a few words of French, and for those participants that are struggling with English, not having to deal with the headache of language barriers. Weightlifting is difficult enough as it is, and we really don’t need those difficulties to be compounded by not understanding each other.

If you have considered either hosting or attending an event yourself in a French-speaking country (or in the case of Switzerland, part of a country), but been reluctant due to fear of language issues, I can assure you that there is no need to worry.
